AI and Play Therapy Across the Lifespan: Ethical Dilemmas in Counseling-May 10th, 2025

From interactive storytelling for young children to AI-assisted role-playing for teens and therapeutic gaming for adults, AI is reshaping play therapy at every stage of life. This workshop examines the ethical dilemmas of AI-enhanced play therapy across ages, including privacy concerns, AI bias, and the limitations of digital emotional recognition. Therapists will explore real-world examples, discuss ethical frameworks, and develop strategies for using AI responsibly while preserving the human-centered nature of play therapy.

This training is offered to support and Celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Play Therapy Certification Program at MidAmerican Nazarene University.
